This example model showing how to read ADC value and process data to control 4 LEDs.
Connect variable resistance output to AN5 (pin A5) of STM32F4DISCOVERY board.
During slow adjust the variable resistance output from 0V to 3.3V, LED1 (PD12) start turn on at output is 0.5V. LED2 (PD13) start turn on at 1V, LED3 start turn on at 1.5V and LED4 start turn on at 2V.
